Damage to electrical and electronic equipment due to internal short-circuit is not covered. However, fire damage to other property outside that equipment is covered.
Wrong risk classification
Every occupancy is uniquely rated by insurers. Wrong classification can lead to repudiation. For example, if landlord does not disclose the occupancy of the tenant and policy gets wrongly rated, claims could be rejected.
Incomplete address
Often incomplete or wrong address leads to claim dispute. For example, if insured fails to mention presence of basement, insured may deny claim arising in basement or may even allege non-disclosure of full risk.
Warranties
This is the expected behaviour or precautions to be taken care by the insured. Examples of warranties include presence of fire extinguishing appliances, presence of AMC in case of electronic equipment.
